It wasn’t the day we were told, but the first of February, 2015, was the day when Monty Oum passed away. Suffering an allergic reaction to a medical procedure on the 22nd of January, he was comatose until the first of February. We mourned and grieved. This community showed incredible support for the man, raising over 200,000 USD for his family. But support should not be measured by wealth alone. Monty’s legacy was not in money but in the creation of art, which will last well beyond his death, perhaps even our own.
What did he leave behind? A family of siblings, great friends, a strong father, and a courageous wife. An army of fans, inspired by his creativity. Two web series, each destined to last for more than a generation; to watch one is impossible without seeing the other. A treasure trove of interviews, podcasts, vines, and other videos showcasing his talent, his humor, and his successes.
He began his extraordinary rise to prominence in 2007 when he finished and released his legendary Haloid video. He would eventually go on to work for Rooster Teeth in animating RvB and finally in writing, producing, and animating RWBY.
For a short eight years he accomplished incredible feats. After one year without him, let’s take a moment to reflect on his influence for all of us. We’ve been moving forward, per his request; and a great amount of art has been produced because of his legacy. We’d all love to know how such a great man influenced you.
If you want to know how he influenced his friends and family, here’s a journal compiling all of their reflections: rwby.deviantart.com/journal/Re…
Burnie made a second post a few weeks after people had begun to pick up the pieces: roosterteeth.com/post/3315179
And Barbara has written her own letter to Monty now: roosterteeth.com/post/51197815
Keep moving forward, but remember who gave you that push.

Mods needed, plz apply
Hey guys, as you all might have noticed, this group has not exactly been active as of late. We've fallen behind on submissions and etc, and you all deserve better. I had been planning to step down a bit earlier but I didn't want to leave our awesome mod Kalloway on her own, so I'll stick around till we can find more people to help her out :)
If interested please note the group or myself, thank you!
(also if anyone is interested in starting a FE3H group with me pm me thanks)
RWBY Gift Exchange Call for Artists/Doodlers/Anyon

Those of you interested in the drawing part, PM or the group so I can get everyone their prompts hopefully by the end of this weekend! Thank you to everyone that submitted characters!
RWBY Gift Exchange (Yes I'm still alive.)
Hello guys, we've definitely dropped the ball on keeping up with stuff, but I hope to make it up to you with this little fun project. I'm just pitching the idea at this point, obviously whether or not we do this will depend on what you all think.
I was thinking about doing a mini RWBY gift exchange with the characters. Obviously this will be drawn and done much like the Community Comics are. It doesn't have to be anything professional looking, this can be little fun doodles as we're all pretty busy during the holidays.
An example of a possible prompt:
Draw what Oz gets Ruby for Christmas
I'll have a poll to see what characters will be inc
I activate Monster Reborn! + Contest!
And use it to bring back the worst monster in my graveyard, knives4cash!
Lit references aside, I'm alive. :P HP has already assured y'all that CC13 will still happen, and it will still happen indeed! I've just been busy with my job. And being crushed by said job. It's great; I use my weekends to clean up the mess in my apartment that has been made from my exhaustion through the week and wonder if all engineering jobs are like this.
And then one has to wonder if this is the rest of my engineering career, for the next 30 - 40 years, yeehaw.
So yeah, I dropped the ball here. Luckily, we have two very good co-founders here to keep the train ru
